Quitting tobacco is one of the healthiest things that you can do.

According to the US Surgeon General's Report, 1990:

20 minutes after quitting - blood pressure drops to a level close to that before the last cigarette.

2 weeks to 3 months after quitting - Lung function increases by up to 30%.

1 year after quitting - risk of coronary heart disease is decreased by 50%.

5+ years after quitting - Stroke risk is reduced to that of a non smoker's.

Maricopa County (Phoenix) conducts tobacco cessation classes for youth and adults which includes Nicotine replacement therapy.  Call 602-995-9039 (English) or 602-380-5510 (Spanish).

Classes are also conducted by the Northern Maricopa Partnership (602-995-7583)
